Booker T Demands Main Roster Call-Up For NXT Star
Booker T thinks an NXT star could make an immediate impact on WWE’s main roster.
At No Mercy back in September, Ricky Saints shockingly beat Oba Femi to claim the NXT Championship, bringing to an end one of the most dominant reigns in recent memory.
With Saints now sitting at the top of the NXT pile, Oba Femi has disappeared from television and seemingly won’t be getting a rematch. This has only added to speculation that he’ll be moving to the main roster sooner rather than later.
It should be noted that the former champion has continued to wrestle on live events.
On the most recent episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, NXT commentator Booker T said that Femi has done everything he can on WWE’s developmental brand.
“I can tell you this. Oba has done a hell of a job in NXT. What else is there for Oba Femi really to do? He’s dominated completely. He’s dominated in NXT. He really has.”
The WWE Hall of Famer added that not only could Femi be a success on the main roster, but he could make an instant impact.
“I think Oba can definitely make a big splash on the main roster right now… I think it’s time to pull the trigger. I really do.”
Booker explained that in his view, the star could fit nicely on either Raw or SmackDown, and he’d benefit greatly from being around veterans such as CM Punk and Randy
“I really think Oba Femi can fit in on the main roster, especially with the right players around him right now, to actually be able to, you know, help teach him what it really means to be a main event player. I mean, guys like Randy Orton, guys like CM Punk, guys like Roman Reigns, to be around those guys right now is invaluable for somebody like Oba Femi.”
Booker T Wants To Work With AEW Star
During the same episode, Booker T also extended a surprising invitation to Mercedes Mone. While discussing the AEW star’s remarkable “belt collector” run that has seen her amass no less than 12 championships, Booker said he’d have no problem bringing her to his Reality of Wrestling promotion.
Furthermore, he’d happily make her ROW Diamonds Champion.
The promotion, which also serves as a wrestling school, has also announced that it will be training Sherilyn Guerrero. Daughter of the late, great Eddie Guerrero.
