Booker T Compares Rising WWE Star To Goldberg

Booker T is enjoying watching the rise of one of WWE’s brightest young stars.

One of NXT’s biggest potential success stories is current North American Champion Oba Femi. The star only began his wrestling career in late 2021 but he’s already impressing fans and industry insiders alike with his impressive in-ring performances.

His freakish athleticism has won him plenty of admirers including announcer and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T. While looking back at Oba Femi’s most recent title defence against Tony D’Angelo, Booker gave his thoughts on the star’s rise from wrestling rookie to top WWE prospect.

Booker T Thinks Oba Femi Is On A Goldberg-Style Trajectory

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T drew a comparison between Oba Femi and Goldberg. The WWE Hall of Famer said that while the NXT star is getting more in-ring time than Goldberg, he’s on a similar trajectory.

Booker added that Oba Femi has all the right qualities while working to learn the business.

“I kind of compare him to someone like Goldberg. Somebody that was indestructible, I mean a guy that could go out there and just run the table. Only thing that’s different is Oba Femi is actually getting a lot more in-ring time, actually feeling the work side out a whole lot more than Goldberg. He actually came along on that same trajectory as a Bill Goldberg.

Being a big guy, very, very impressive, looks like he’s unbeatable, unstoppable. He’s got all of those qualities, but there again, I think from his infancy stages he’s learning what it means to go out there and really truly learn the business,”

The WWE Hall of Famer went on to discuss his long-standing friendship with Goldberg, explaining why he always enjoyed working with him.
