Bobby Lashley Makes Surprise AEW In-Ring Debut
Bobby Lashley was expected to make his in-ring AEW debut at Full Gear but the former WWE Champion has jumped the gun on Dynamite.
At Dynamite Grand Slam, MVP made his AEW debut following weeks of ever-increasing speculation. The star was quickly joined on-screen by Shelton Benjamin and plans to reinvent the Hurt Business were well underway as they set their sights on luring Swerve Strickland away from Prince Nana.
Strickland rebuffed MVP’s advances to stick by Nana leading to a match at Fright Night Dynamite between the former AEW World Champion and Benjamin.
Swerve Strickland handed Shelton Benjamin his first defeat in AEW but MVP’s full plans soon became clear as he put a call into someone before the arena was bathed in darkness. As unfamiliar music hit, Bobby Lashley entered the arena making his first appearance in AEW. Lashley confronted Strickland before Benjamin attacked his opponent allowing them to double-team Strickland while MVP laid out Prince Nana.
That led to a furious Swerve Strickland challenging Lashley to a match at Full Gear which MVP gladly accepted. But The All Mighty One had big plans before the pay-per-view on November 23rd.
Bobby Lashley Dominates 2-On-1 Dynamite Match
As The Hurt Syndicate turned up at Dynamite in Reading, MVP revealed that Lashley would be in action on the show before Swerve Strickland burst in and clocked his Full Gear opponent with a chain-wrapped fist.
That didn’t stop Lashley from ploughing through Joe Keys and Ring of Honor legend Cheeseburger in a handicap match as he made Keys pass out in The Hurt Lock. After the bout, Swerve Strickland emerged from under the ring and took out The Hurt Syndicate before bailing through the crowd.
This Dynamite match was Bobby Lashley’s first in-ring outing since he defeated Santos Escobar at a WWE live event back in May.
