Bobby Lashley Hurt By WWE’s Spit In The Face
Bobby Lashley thinks The Hurt Business’ treatment in WWE was a spit in the face and claims Triple H didn’t think very much of him.
The Hurt Business were a rare high spot in WWE during the dark days of the pandemic when shows were forced to take place in front of no fans.
MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and Cedric Alexander dominated Raw but as soon as the group really could have taken off and before Lashley captured the WWE Championship, it was all over.
Bobby Lashley Unhappy With WWE Treatment
Speaking on a K&S WrestleFest virtual signing, Bobby Lashley spoke candidly about the group’s treatment and claimed Triple H was no fan of his when he took over creative from Vince McMahon:
It was kind of a spit in the face. We were never in front of a live crowd. During the pandemic, a lot of guys sat at home, ‘I’m not going to do this or that’ and it was us saying, ‘It’s work. We’re going.’
We did everything. We were on half the show most of the time. We came out of the pandemic and people started resurfacing, ‘Oh, I’m ready to work.’
What about the guys who were putting the time in during this dangerous time? We got overlooked. That was a little bit of a spit in the face. I think we could have come back and done some big things together. They just didn’t want us.
Different strokes for different folks. Different people like different things. When the regime changed, the regime wasn’t too high on me at all.
Only Cedric Alexander from the group remains in WWE with Shelton Benjamin joining MVP in AEW in recent weeks. The pair have targeted former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland but he has rejected their advances leaving the door open for Bobby Lashley to reunite with his former team in Tony Khan’s company.
