Bobby Lashley AEW

Bobby Lashley has hinted at a future return to MMA.

The former two-time WWE Champion initially made his MMA debut against Joshua Franklin on 13th December 2007 and took just 41 seconds to register an emphatic victory.

The powerful Kansas-born star went on to compete in 16 further bouts in the decade that followed, competing for the likes of Strikeforce and Bellator as he battled his way to a respectable 15-2 record.

The 48 year-old made his AEW debut at Fright Night Dynamite on 30th October following the expiration of his WWE contract and quickly reunited with former stable mates MVP and Shelton Benjamin to form ‘The Hurt Syndicate’.

The trio have enjoyed a successful start in AEW, with Lashley and Benjamin defeating Private Party to lift the AEW World Tag Team Championship on the 22nd January edition of Dynamite.

Despite adding another title to his long list of in-ring accomplishments, Lashley has admitted that he could yet be looking to go to battle outside of an AEW ring.

Speaking during a recent edition of ‘Hey! (EW)‘, Lashley hinted at his desire to make a return to the world of MMA:

“For me, when I got into it, it wasn’t just about making it to a certain level. When I get into something, I actually want to be a student of the game. I open up a gym. So I actually put myself into it. So I’ve learned all aspects of it.

I’m the type that I’m okay with taking a back seat to not knowing everything. So I fought for 10 years. In that time, I was training at all kinds of different gyms and I ran my own gym. So I was a student of the game.

It’s something that I still want to pursue. I’m going to do a boxing match or a fight still.”

Bobby Lashley Unhappy With Treatment In WWE

Bobby Lashley has previously admitted his unhappiness with the way he was treated in WWE.

The former WWE Intercontinental Champion has claimed that he was not like by WWE Chief Content Officer, Triple H and believes the company intentionally tried to bury him on television before he departed for pastures new in August 2024.
