Bobby Lashley Expects To Cross Paths With Ex-WWE Star
Bobby Lashley could have another reunion in AEW.
In September 2018, Lio Rush joined up with Bobby Lashley as his manager while both men were in WWE. However, the partnership was broken up the following April, following reports that Rush had significant heat backstage.
Although Rush did return to action with the company, he was released before getting back on the main roster.
However, both Rush and Lashley now find themselves back in AEW, with an ever-growing number of fans calling for them to reunite.
Bobby Lashley Praises Tremendous Talent Lio Rush
In a new interview with WFAA Dallas, Lashley was asked about potentially linking back up with Rush in AEW. He said that while he doesn’t know what the future holds, he thinks the pair will cross paths again if he stays with the company.
“I love Lio. I think Lio has a tremendous amount of talent across the board, he’s always doing something, he just needs a platform to be able to do it. Am I gonna do something with Lio? I don’t know. I really don’t know. I’m sure down the road if I spent some time with AEW, we are definitely gonna cross paths.
He has a tag team partner, so I’m surprised that we have not crossed paths in that capacity, but I think we’re definitely gonna do something while I’m here in AEW, for sure.”
During the same conversation, Bobby Lashley took a moment to hit back at critics of AEW and the tribal mentality held by some fans in general. He explained that while there are people trying to put the company down when an ex-WWE star becomes All Elite, things aren’t so cut and dried.
Lashley said that he’s not an AEW wrestler or a WWE wrestler; he’s simply a wrestler.
Bobby Lashley will be back in action at AEW All In, where he’ll team with Shelton Benjamin to defend the World Tag Team Championship against JetSpeed and Nick Wayne & Christian Cage.
