Bobby Lashley Unsure AEW Star Has What It Takes To Join The Hurt Syndicate

Bobby Lashley has given his thoughts on a fellow AEW star.

Following the success of The Hurt Busines in WWE, MVP, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin are looking for a repeat in AEW. The first to arrive was MVP, but he was quickly joined by Benjamin and more recently Lashley.

The once-dominant faction has set its sights on Swerve Strickland in recent weeks and war has been declared. On the November 20th episode of Dynamite, Bobby Lashley made a surprise in-ring debut, before being attacked by Strickland who escaped through the crowd.

With Lashley and Benjamin handling business inside the ring, MVP has given business cards to the likes of Mercedes Mone, Lio Rush, and Ricochet. So who will be next to join the group?

MVP has previously revealed that when the group formed in WWE, there was talk of Ricochet taking the spot taken by Cedric Alexander. But at the time, things went in a different direction, and Alexander formed a great partnership with Benjamin before going on to win tag team gold.

With Alexander staying with WWE, and Ricochet in AEW, there’s been speculation that the high-flyer could join MVP and co, but Lashley isn’t sure the star has what it takes.

During an appearance on the Lame Guys Podcast, Lashley pondered whether Ricochet could successfully pull off a heel turn.

“We’re going to put an ad in Indeed [laughs]. I love Ricochet. I think everybody loves Ricochet. You see that guy in the ring, he’s ridiculous. I think Ricochet would be a great option.

I don’t know if he’s going to be that person. Does he have that dog in him? We asked him several times and he goes, ‘I do. I do. I do.’ Everybody says that. What’s cool about him is he runs into the same category I did. I was such a babyface and people still see me as a babyface.

When I’m with the Hurt Business and I link up with MVP, they’re like, ‘Alright, he’s a heel.’ It helped me because having a heel manager helps a babyface make that switch. Roman (Reigns) and Paul (Heyman). Ricochet could be. With him, it would be a different kind of grit that he would have. That’s what we did with Cedric. Cedric’s stuff is so pretty and flashy, we’re like, ‘Stop it. Just smash this dude in his face.’

At the same time, I still pull for Lio. I think Lio would be awesome in the group, too. Either one of those guys would be incredible in the group,”

Fresh off the back of that chaotic night on Dynamite, Lashley will meet Strickland one-on-one at Full Gear on November 23rd.
