Blake Monroe Calls Out WWE Hall Of Famer For Personal Reason
Blake Monroe has her eyes set on facing a WWE Hall of Famer, and it’s because of how that person is viewed by a loved one.
The first televised WWE match in the career of Blake Monroe is set to take place this Saturday, July 12th, at NXT’s Great American Bash in Atlanta.
Monroe will team up at the Great American Bash with Jordynne Grace against the NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne and her Fatal Influence tag team partner, Fallon Henley.
While Monroe will likely be a featured player on the NXT brand in the coming months, she also has some dream matches she wants to have in WWE.
Blake Monroe was asked by Deadline who she wants to wrestle in WWE, and while Blake said there are many women she wants to compete against, she singled out Nikki Bella due to her mother being a part of the Bella Army.
“I have a ton, since I grew up watching WWE. The person I would pick has just come back, Nikki Bella. She’s my mum’s favorite wrestler, and that hits personal to me. So, I feel like I need to take her out. [Laughs] I need to be my mum’s favorite wrestler! She’s part of the Bella Army. I’ve lost her. But maybe if I beat her, my mum will come around.”
Nikki Bella will be in the battle royal at Evolution on July 13th for a shot at the Women’s Champion on Raw or SmackDown.
“I’m Pretty Tough In That Ring” – Blake Monroe
Many WWE fans have likely seen Blake Monroe in the ring from her two years in AEW as Mariah May and wrestling all around the world before that. Blake also spoke to Deadline about what fans can expect from her in the ring.
“What you can expect from me in the ring is very different from what you might anticipate. I think people look at me, and they underestimate me because I’m super girly and cutesy when I come out like a pop star. But I’m very hard-hitting.
I’ve honed my craft in Japan, and I’ve been training at the Performance Center, which has developed some of the best wrestlers in the world. People are going to be a little taken aback. If you’ve never seen me wrestle before, you probably won’t expect what you’re going to see, but I’m pretty tough in that ring.”
You can watch NXT Great American Bash on Saturday, July 12, at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT, streaming live on Peacock in the United States and on Netflix everywhere else.
