Blake Monroe Speaks Out After Losing WWE Title In Botched Finish
Blake Monroe may have made the biggest mistake of her WWE career.
Blake Monroe waltzed into WWE in 2025 as she jumped across the wrestling divide from AEW and quickly shed her former name of Mariah May.
The 27-year-old star captured the NXT Women’s North American Championship at Halloween Havoc, just four months after she made her WWE in-ring debut. That title win saw Zaria take the place of the reigning champion, Sol Ruca, due to an injury suffered by Ruca.
At Gold Rush, Blake Monroe solidified her status as champion when she successfully defended the gold against Sol Ruca. On the December 16th edition of NXT, Monroe put her gold on the line against Thea Hail, and that match ended in a way no one predicted, simply because it wasn’t supposed to happen.
Blake Monroe Thinks She’s Been Screwed
During the bout, Hail attempted to pin Monroe, but instead of getting her shoulder off the mat, Monroe simply lifted her hand, and the referee counted to three, giving Hail the shock win and the NXT Women’s North American Championship.
Taking to social media, it was clear Monroe was blaming others for not kicking out when she was supposed to, as she wrote:
Not the first time i’ve been scr*wed
not the first time i’ve been screwed
