Blake Monroe Attacked As She Signs WWE Contract
Blake Monroe has wasted no time in finding enemies in WWE, as a brawl broke out when she signed her NXT contract.
On the June 3rd edition of NXT, several members of the roster were in the ring arguing about who should get the first crack at Jacy Jayne’s newly won NXT Women’s Championship. When that ended in a brawl, the lights went out, and when they came back on, Mariah May was standing on a perch as she sent a warning to the roster that she’ll be the next NXT Women’s Champion.
The commentary team were overcome with excitement at May’s arrival, but neither they nor May herself referred to her by name. The reason for that became clear on the next edition of NXT as Mariah May was renamed Blake Monroe as she took on a character familiarly tinged with old Hollywood glamour.
Blake Monroe Meets Fatal Influence
On the June 17th edition of NXT, Blake Monroe signed her NXT contract, but that did not go off without incident. Monroe claimed NXT had the best women’s division in wrestling before she delved into the sexual innuendo, as the comparisons with Toni Storm’s character will no doubt continue.
Fatal Influence then made their presence felt, led by NXT Women’s Champion Jacy Jayne. Jayne tore into Monroe, which led to the WWE newcomer pie-faced Jayne. Fatal Influence had the numbers advantage, however, and they attacked Monroe, putting her through a table and leaving her lying as Jayne posed with her title to end the night.
