Billy Gunn Says Surprising Name Is Better Than Bret Hart
Billy Gunn made a bold claim that one of his former tag team partners was better than Bret Hart.
There’s no doubt that Bret Hart had a legendary, becoming a multi-time WWE Champion as well as numerous other titles in WWE. The star won King of the Ring on two separate occasions, and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on two separate occasions, once as a standalone induction in 2006 and once as part of the Hart Foundation in 2019.
While fellow WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg has had a storied career of his own, he didn’t reach the same heights as Hart, having never held either the WWE or World Heavyweight Championship. Therefore, it may come as a surprise to some that his former tag team partner Billy Gunn believes Road Dogg is better than Hart.
Responding to a fan on social media who insinuated that the real life Brian James believes he’s better than the Hitman, Gunn wrote simply:
He is
James had a humorous response when it soon became clear that his friend’s opinion wasn’t necessarily a popular one, writing:
“Hell I’ve got lots a friends Doc” dramatic pause “I DONT”

Hart has not responded to Gunn’s claim at this time. However, during an April interview, he gave his thoughts on modern wrestling, questioning those in charge of both AEW and WWE for allowing wrestling to become “phony.”
As for Gunn, he can regularly be seen on AEW programming alongside The Acclaimed. He recently confirmed that the company has tried bringing in fellow former DX member Sean Waltman to work on their programming, but nothing has worked out as of yet.
