Big Hint Ric Flair Is Done With AEW

Ric Flair AEW

Ric Flair’s partnership with AEW might be over.

On November 2nd, 2023 it was announced that Ric Flair had signed a huge multi-year contract with AEW. The new deal saw Flair’s Wooooo! Energy brand become the official energy drink of AEW.

Aside from the product branding appearing on television, Flair himself also made several appearances as part of Sting’s retirement tour. The last of those came in Sting’s last match at Revolution where he clashed with the Young Bucks.

Ric Flair’s arrival in the company split fans online, and one of his promos was heavily edited to remove a line where he encouraged 18-year-olds to meet him in his hotel room. While Flair has been using those kinds of lines for decades, given his age and previous allegations of sexual misconduct, many deemed his comments inappropriate.

Has Ric Flair Left AEW?

Despite Flair’s agreement with AEW said to be for multiple years, some fans have questioned whether it might have been brought to an early end. In recent weeks there’s been no Wooooo! Energy branding on AEW television, and Dave Meltzer noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this will likely continue going forward.

Those who have pointed out no “Whoo! Energy” graphics on the screen of late, that is a smart observation and unless something changes it doesn’t look like you’ll be seeing that going forward. There was no explanation given but unless something changes it does look like that deal is over with.

Ric Flair was recently back in the headlines after a social media spat with Eric Bischoff and Vince Russo where he claimed the duo along with Jim Herd killed WCW.
