Big E Addresses What The New Day Has Left To Prove
Big E has revealed what drives The New Day to keep performing at the highest level.
The 37 year-old has been a part of the popular faction alongside Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods since it’s inception in July 2014, with the trio lifting WWE tag team gold on a record 12 occasions between them.
Former WWE Champion Big E has been out of action since suffering a broken neck during a bout against Ridge Holland and Sheamus on the 11th March 2022 edition of SmackDown.
Kingston and Woods have continued to represent the New Day since then, becoming only the third WWE Tag Team triple crown Champions after lifting NXT Tag Team gold in December 2022 at NXT Deadline.
During a recent appearance on WWE’s The Bump, Big E shared his thoughts on what drives the New Day to stay on top of their game:
“You know, look, I talked before about how hard it is to get to the top, but staying here, staying relevant, with all this influx of young talent, especially in the tag team division.
I know how hungry those guys are to prove that they’re still at the top, that they’re still the best tag team around. They’re out there on a weekly basis, on a nightly basis, to show them.”
Will Big E Return To In-Ring Competition?
Despite declaring his that his neck now feels 100%, Big E’s in-ring future remains in doubt after doctors advised the former WWE Intercontinental Champion to rule out a return to action.
Big E himself has not yet placed a timeline on his potential return, instead insisting that he wanted to make a smart decision on his future during a recent interview with TMZ.
