Big E Reveals What Needs To Happen For WWE In-Ring Return

Big E has given WWE fans an update on the possibility of a return to the ring.

The New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have had a run of bad luck recently on Monday Night Raw, including this past Monday when they lost to American Made in tag team action. The New Day group (Kofi, Woods & Big E) have won 12 WWE Tag Team Titles together, but their last reign was over three years ago.

Sadly, Big E suffered a serious injury to his neck on the March 11th, 2022 edition of SmackDown while taking an overhead belly-to-belly suplex from Ridge Holland on the floor. It was a broken neck that has kept the New Day’s powerhouse from wrestling for over two years.

While being on the sidelines, Big E has been praised heavily for his work on WWE Countdown/Kickoff shows before and after PLE events. As a former WWE Champion who first signed with the company 15 years ago, somebody like Big E has a lot of credibility when sitting at the table providing insight into what it takes to be successful in WWE.

When Could Big E Make His Return To The WWE Ring?

As for a potential return to the ring, Big E told Kyle Odegard of Sports Talk Philly that he could find out in the next three to six months.

“More than anything, I’m just taking every day as it comes. I know that sounds like a cliche. But I get scans again in another three-to-six months, and if they look great and the doctors say it’s healthy for me to go back, then that’s something where we’ll sit down and talk about it. But I try not to spend too much time worrying about things I can’t control.”

“It’s nice to know that if I get the opportunity to get back in the ring, and I can do it healthily, then let’s do that. Let’s attack it fully.”

“But if not, I know exactly what I want to do, and I’m excited about that path, too.”

That final line could be a hint that Big E may do more announcing in WWE, but he could also be referring to something else completely.

Lastly, The New Day has referenced their tenth anniversary as a group this November, so that could lead to the trio of Kingston, Woods, and Big E reuniting on television again.
