Big E Admits The New Day Is At A Crossroads In WWE

Big E with The New Day

Big E believes that The New Day need to figure out where they fit into WWE.

Since forming a decade ago, The New Day has become one of the most popular and successful teams in WWE history. In 2022, the group suffered a major blow when Big E injured his neck during a tag team match on SmackDown. Two years later, there is still uncertainty over whether the star will ever return to the ring.

More recently, The Final Testament have been attempting to drive a wedge between the two remaining members of the group, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston. On Raw in Ottawa, Karrion Kross offered a place in The Final Testament, telling him that The New Day is dead, and he’s the last to realise it.

During an appearance on Getting Over, Big E addressed the current state of the faction. After saying they are his brothers for life, E admitted that, having already achieved so much, they are at a crossroads on where to go next.

“Yeah, you know, obviously those are my brothers for life. There is a bit of a crux. Like, we have spent so much time at the top of the tag team division. Kofi [Kingston] being World Champion, I got an opportunity to be World Champion, and [Xavier] Woods is King of the Ring. After the run in the NXT, I feel like now, where do we fit here? I feel like it’s a bit of a crossroads for them figuring out what they want to do.”

The former WWE Champion believes Woods and Kingston have a lot left to offer, but whether they continue together or separate is a different matter.

“I feel like this is something they need to go through. Something they need to handle it as well and figure it out. Kofi’s in his 40s now, and Woods is in his late 30s. I still think they have a ton more to offer, and whether they do that as a collective? Whether they do that as singles? I feel it’s an interesting time for them to see which direction they would go.”

Big E Provides Update On Possibility Of In-Ring Return

During the same interview, Big E addressed his current health status. The star explained that while his neck has healed enough for him to live pain-free, his C1 vertebrae has only been healing fibrously. As it has not been forming new bone, doctors won’t clear him for a return to the ring.
