Update on Bianca Belair’s Injury Amid WWE Absence
Bianca Belair has not wrestled since her last match at WrestleMania 41 on April 20, 2025, where she faced IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley in a triple threat contest for the WWE Women’s World Championship. She also sustained an injury during the event, which occurred during a triple German suplex spot.
Bianca Belair’s hand got trapped under Rhea Ripley as both women collapsed after the maneuver, causing immediate and intense pain. She initially feared she had broken all her fingers, but later learned she had fractured her finger in three places, including the knuckle.
Bianca Belair’s Injured Finger Looked Terrible
After this injury, The EST’s finger swelled up dramatically, with a backstage report from Fightful Select describing it as looking almost deformed and far more serious than originally expected. WWE did not anticipate Belair’s recovery would take so long, but the damage proved worse than initial assessments suggested. The broken knuckle required extended healing time, and Belair has worn her wedding ring on her right hand since her left can’t properly accommodate it.
“When the injury happened, WWE did not think she was going to be out this long. Now, her finger looked terrible from what I understood — it like swelled up big time. People were coming and checking on it. It was on the triple German suplex spot at Mania where I think that she thought she broke all of her fingers, but she actually broke the knuckle. So it ended up a lot worse than they thought.”
Although months have passed, Bianca Belair recently explained in her interviews that her finger has not fully healed and remains unable to straighten or bend naturally. She mentions feeling discomfort whenever it is bumped or when she attempts to stretch it, and she is still awaiting a final decision on whether surgical intervention is necessary. Belair’s updates show she remains positive yet realistic about her recovery, noting the frustration of a long absence but the importance of healing fully.
Her time away forced WWE to change plans for several storylines involving Naomi and Jade Cargill, who held the tag titles with Belair. While Belair’s return was tentatively planned for SummerSlam 2025, there is no confirmed date for her official in-ring comeback.
