WWE Star Hoping Bianca Belair’s Title Run Is As Long As Roman Reigns’

Bianca Belair Raw Womens Champion

A current WWE star hopes that the championship reign of Bianca Belair continues for a long time just like the run that Roman Reigns is on.

When it comes to lengthy title reigns in the modern era, Roman Reigns is on quite a run since he’s been the WWE Universal Champion for over 900 days going back to when he first won the title in August 2020. Reigns added the WWE Title to his collection nearly one year ago at WrestleMania 38 as well.

WrestleMania 38 was also the night when Bianca Belair won the Raw Women’s Title from Becky Lynch. Belair has held that title for nearly one year as we head toward WrestleMania 39 when Belair defends the gold against Asuka.

For the past year, Bianca Belair has taken on all comers on the Raw brand with multiple title defense wins against tough challengers like Becky Lynch, Bayley and Alexa Bliss, all of whom are former Women’s Champions in WWE.

If Belair can beat Asuka at WrestleMania 39 as well, there’s no telling how long her title reign will last.

One man who wants to see Belair have a record-breaking championship reign is Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP). Recently, Belair passed MVP’s record for the longest championship reign for a black wrestler in WWE. MVP held the US Title in 2007-08 for an impressive 345 days.

During an appearance on WWE’s After The Bell podcast, MVP talked about how he’s proud of Belair while adding that he wants Bianca’s title reign to keep going.

“I’ve had a lot of growth over the last few years. So my maturity has come into play and I can tell you that once upon a time, I probably would have had some sour grapes about it. I would have said, ‘Yeah, well, I mean, she hasn’t had to face the people that I had to face in my title defenses,’ or whatnot. But I have to say that Bianca Belair, The EST, has earned my respect.”

“I’m very proud of her and her accomplishments. I’m very happy to see her do it and I hope that she goes on to break Becky Lynch’s record, as a matter of fact, I hope that her reign matches Roman Reigns’ and she becomes a record-breaking, record-setting Women’s Champion. She’s classy in every conceivable way. Classy, talented, and devoted herself to the craft. I have nothing but respect for Bianca Belair.”

As for MVP’s role at WrestleMania 39, he will be in Omos’ corner for the big man’s match against Brock Lesnar, who may not be in WWE for much longer.
