Bianca Belair Addresses Possible Record-Setting Title Reign

Bianca Belair is just over two months away from breaking a record in WWE.

At the time of writing, Belair has held the RAW Women’s Championship for 306 days. She won the title at last year’s WrestleMania when she beat Becky Lynch, who was in her second reign as champion.

But it’s Lynch’s first reign that Belair hopes to topple in the coming months. Lynch held the RAW Women’s Championship for 373 days from WrestleMania 35 in 2019 to Money In the Bank 2020.

So if Bianca Belair keeps her title until WrestleMania 39 and also retains it at that event, then she will all but certainly surpass Becky Lynch and become the longest-reigning RAW Women’s Champion ever.

Speaking to WrestlingInc in an exclusive interview, Bianca Belair described how she feels about that prospect.

“I mean, it means everything. Becky, that 26 seconds was — whew. It was rough, but it possibly was one of the best things that could have happened to me.

The fans were behind me, and it kept that hunger in me, and it got me all the way back to WrestleMania to getting this title now.

I feel like I just got it, and I don’t plan on losing it anytime soon. I look up to Becky, she’s done so much for the women’s division, so anytime that I can go and break a record that she has, it lets me know that I’m doing something right.

To have my name in the same conversation as her, it means everything.”

Bianca Belair’s road to this potential record-breaking achievement was a long and complicated one. She won the 2021 Women’s Royal Rumble match (despite not being the initially-chosen winner), and then won the title at WrestleMania 37.

Then at SummerSlam 2021, Becky Lynch returned and beat Belair in 26 seconds.

From there Belair persevered and won the 2022 Women’s Elimination Chamber match to earn a shot at Lynch at WrestleMania 38, which is where she won the title that she carries to this day.
