Belts Revealed For Brand New AEW Championship

AEW President Tony Khan

Another championship has been announced for AEW, and the company has given fans a first look at the new title belts.

One thing AEW is not short of is championships. A men’s world title, a women’s world title, tag team titles, trios title, a unified title comprised of an international title and a continental championship, a TNT title, a TBS title, and that’s not to mention any Ring of Honor titles that also appear on Dynamite or Collision.

Tony Khan promised a special announcement on Dynamite and delivered as he announced the long-awaited introduction of an AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship. Renee Paquette then unveiled the new title belts, which are based on the men’s tag team title currently held by Brodido.

New AEW Title Highly Sought After

Khan did not detail a timeframe for when the inaugural champions will be crowned or how the new champions will be decided.

The introduction of the new title came before Kris Statlander successfully defended her AEW Women’s World Championship against Mina Shirakawa. Statlander won her title for the first time in her career at All Out as she ended the dominant reign of Toni Storm.

Currently, AEW has the likes of Statlander and Harley Cameron, the Triangle of Madness, Anna Jay & Tay Melo, and Athena & Billie Starkz currently partnering up on AEW TV with a host of other stars who could also form teams to challenge for the new title.
