A popular WWE star has left the company.

At Saturday Night’s Main Event, R-Truth squared off against John Cena, but was ultimately defeated thanks to a low blow. A week later, he was back in action against new signing JC Mateo, but was again defeated, this time in under three minutes.

Little did fans know at the time, that match may have been goodbye.

In a shocking new post on social media, R-Truth has announced his departure from WWE while thanking fans for their support.

Im sorry to inform you all. I just got released from WWE. I want to thank WWE for the ride, but MOSTLY I want to thank each and EVERYONE OF YOU who was along for the ride, Thank you for all the love, support, and appreciation you have given me over the years. Thank you 🙏🏾

Many fans initially thought that Truth had been hacked or was about to reveal that the whole thing is a joke, but as reported by Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, the information is accurate, and the star will leave WWE when his contract expires.

Ron Killings initially signed with WWE in 1999 and debuted on the main roster under the name K-Kwik, where he teamed with Road Dogg. However, he was released in August 2001.

The star quickly joined TNA Wrestling, where he became the first, and to date only, Black NWA World Heavyweight Champion. By 2008, he was back with WWE and began wrestling as R-Truth.

Over the next 18 years, he won several championships, including the United States Title, 24/7 Title, and World Tag Team Title, while rubbing shoulders with some of the biggest names in wrestling history. Now in the veteran stage of his career, Truth’s comic timing and willingness to laugh at himself have endeared him to fans the world over.

Mariah May To Sign With WWE

While Truth is leaving the company, Mariah May is expected to become a WWE Superstar after her AEW contract expired. The former AEW Women’s World Champion hasn’t wrestled since being defeated by “Timeless” Toni Storm at Dynasty.

In 2025, several AEW stars have moved to the sports entertainment giant, with the likes of Penta, Rey Fenix, Ricky Saints, Rusev, and Aleister Black all following Cody Rhodes and Jade Cargill to the sports entertainment giant.
