Belief In WWE That Shane McMahon Will Appear In AEW

Shane McMahon

Shane McMahon is the unlikely talk of the wrestling world and many in WWE are now expecting the former heir apparent to jump ship to AEW.

WrestleTalk and Fightful Select recently reported that Shane McMahon held a private meeting with Tony Khan on July 29th at a private Arlington airport. It was reported that Khan and McMahon’s meeting was to discuss “possibilities moving forward.” It was also confirmed that McMahon is no longer under any kind of WWE contract meaning that he could appear on AEW television at any time if he chose to.

Shane McMahon has broken his silence on the meeting and has done nothing to suggest that he’s not open to what could be the biggest surprise yet for Tony Khan and AEW.

Shane McMahon To AEW?

Fightful Select has now followed up by reporting that at SummerSlam there was some backstage chatter about McMahon and AEW. The belief of many is that McMahon will end up making an appearance at the very least for Tony Khan’s company.

Shane McMahon last appeared in WWE at WrestleMania 39 where he was part of an impromptu and ill-fated match against The Miz. McMahon tore his quad just seconds into the bout which had to be salvaged by, of all people, WWE Hall of Famer and current US Olympic cheerleader Snoop Dogg. However, it seems his options in the wrestling business could be limited as it seems WWE doesn’t want Shane McMahon back.
