Becky Lynch WWE Return Rumour Killer
Becky Lynch remains away from the WWE Universe and a report about a potential new contract appears to be false.
It has been over six months since former WWE Women’s Champion Becky Lynch has appeared on television. Lynch chose to let her WWE contract expire rather than sign a new deal, so it has left fans wondering when she might return.
A recent report noted that WWE expects Becky Lynch to return to the company, so it’s not a case of her signing with another wrestling promotion.
Becky Lynch’s husband Seth Rollins re-signed with WWE earlier this year and remains a top star. The couple has a daughter together.
There were comments recently from former WWE announcer/superstar Jonathan Coachman that led to speculation about a Lynch return. Coachman made claims on a recent podcast about what Lynch was asking for.
“Roman’s at that 15-20 million mark, and TKO doesn’t want to pay anybody. […] Then you got Cody Rhodes, who’s making 10-15 reportedly. Then Seth, who is her [Becky Lynch] better half, he’s probably in that three to seven million range. So reportedly, she was asking for over two million a year. […] They didn’t do it..[…] If they paid her, she’d be on the show. And they’re desperate for females right now.”
It has been reported by Fightful Select that a “half dozen sources in the know all immediately shot down these rumors.”
Fightful added that WWE respected Lynch’s decision to take a break since she has been a part of WWE for over a decade. It is believed that if Lynch wanted to sign a deal before her contract expired then it likely would have happened.
The $2 million number thrown out by Coachman was shot down by everybody, according to Fightful. They noted that Lynch didn’t ask for that number and WWE “would have jumped at that number” since top stars like Lynch are getting paid well beyond that amount now, so she would make over $2 million per year. The same goes for top stars in AEW.
Regarding the salary numbers mentioned by Coachman, Fightful added that the $3-$7 million numbers mentioned for Lynch’s husband Rollins appear to be accurate, but no reputable outlets have reported the other numbers.
Becky Lynch To Address Her Future
While Becky Lynch has kept a low profile since being off WWE television, she will appear at the Vulture Festival on November 17th in Hollywood, California.
In a social media post addressing that appearance, Lynch teased that she may give fans some insight into what she plans to do next in her career.
I know it’s been a while but let’s catch up on Nov 17th at the @vulturefestival where I’ll be chatting about my book, my career, and, maybe what’s next.
