Becky Lynch Added to Raw Women’s Title Match at WWE Hell in a Cell, Updated Card
Becky Lynch will get a chance to win back the Raw Women’s Title at WWE Hell in a Cell because she’s been added to the Raw Women’s Title match where she’ll face the champion Bianca Belair and the other challenger, Asuka.
Last night on Raw, Lynch complained about losing to Asuka one week earlier. That led to WWE Official Adam Pearce telling Lynch that she would get another match against Asuka and if Lynch won, then Lynch would be added to the Belair vs. Asuka match at Hell in a Cell on June 5th in Chicago.
“Big Time” Becky Lynch found a way to win that match on Raw after her fight with Asuka spilled to the floor. They were fighting right where Belair was watching the match at ringside and Asuka accidentally kicked Belair in the head since Asuka was aiming for Belair, who moved out of the way and Asuka kicked Belair instead. Asuka was barely able to beat the ten count to get back into the ring, which led to Lynch doing a perfectly executed sunset flip pin for the win.
Asuka earned her title shot by beating Lynch on Raw last week when Asuka sprayed the dreaded green mist in Lynch’s face and then did a roundhouse kick for the pinfall win.
In addition to the women’s triple threat title match, WWE also added Bobby Lashley vs. Omos to the Hell in a Cell card. That will have a unique stipulation because MVP beat Lashley by countout on Raw (thanks to an assist from Omos), which means MVP and Omos get to pick the stipulation of the fourth televised Lashley-Omos match. On Raw Talk last night, MVP announced that Lashley will have to face Omos & MVP in a Handicap Match. Lashley won at WrestleMania 38, Omos won at WrestleMania Backlash and Lashley won a Steel Cage Match on Raw last week.
Kevin Owens has been frustrated for several weeks because he believes that “new” Raw superstar is really Elias, but Ezekiel continues to claim that he is the younger brother of Elias. After Elias beat Chad Gable on Raw this week, he celebrated by going into the crowd to also avoid an attack from Gable, Otis and Owens.
An angry Owens said he wanted to face “Zeke” at Hell in a Cell and the match was made official after that.
There are four matches advertised for Hell in a Cell at this point. The unique thing is that all of them are Raw brand matches. It will be interesting to see what Smackdown matches make it on the card. They still have two more episodes of Smackdown before Hell in a Cell take place.
The next WWE Premium Live Event is Hell in a Cell on Sunday, June 5th. Here’s what we know so far.
