Becky Lynch Says Women In WWE Can’t Rise Without TV Time
Becky Lynch wants plenty of women to be elevated within WWE – but they’ll need to be given the TV time to be able to do it.
Since winning the NXT Women’s Championship, Becky Lynch has proven to be a fighting champion and has event taken the belt over to Monday Night Raw. There has been some contention as two weeks ago she was scheduled to defend against Tegan Nox, however the match was instead changed to having Natalya as the challenger.
In the end Lynch retained, and on this week’s red brand event Nox defeated Natalya and will now get the planned opportunity on next week’s show.
Becky Lynch Wants More Challengers
In a discussion with the New York Post, Lynch discussed how she wants people like Tegan Nox to get an opportunity as it helps everyone rise up, although they’ll need to be given the time on programming to be able to do it.
Currently, we are a little light on women with credibility on Raw.
So any way I can give these women, who are great, credibility, give them a match, give them an outing and showcase them in a championship match, I think that only benefits everybody.
It benefits the audience because we have more women that we care about and more women that I can beat.
I need people to come up. I need people on this level.
But if nobody’s getting any TV time… if nobody’s getting any story time then they can’t rise up because nobody knows who the hell they are.
In another interview, Lynch has discussed what she described as a debut which could be comparable to The Shockmaster.
