Becky Lynch States What She Has To Overcome In WWE
As she prepares for an upcoming big match, Becky Lynch has discussed a foe that she has to overcome in WWE.
At the WWE Elimination Chamber PLE in Australia, Becky Lynch competed in the Chamber match for the first time and ended up as the winner. The reward for winning that match will lead to Lynch challenging the WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 40 on either April 6th or April 7th.
While Lynch is on a hot streak due to her win in the Chamber match, she started 2024 by losing on the Day 1 edition of WWE Raw when she faced Nia Jax. On the March 4th edition of Raw, Lynch will get the chance to avenge her loss from two months earlier when she faces Jax again.
During an appearance on WWE’s The Bump, Lynch put over how important the match with Jax is to her.
“Yeah. Look, have you ever known me to take the easy way out? No. The thing is, I won’t be able to move on and become the best version of me if I have that thing in the back of my head that says ‘Nia Jax has got the upper hand’ or ‘Nia Jax has beaten me,’ or ‘you couldn’t beat Nia Jax.’”
“So these are the things that I have to overcome so that I can go on to beat Rhea Ripley.”
Becky Lynch Knows She Has To Beat Nia Jax
The backstory to the Lynch-Jax rivalry goes back to 2018 when Jax punched Lynch in the face and gave her a broken nose. That injury cost Lynch some time in the ring, but Lynch was able to come back from it and use the momentum she had to win the main event of WrestleMania 35 in 2019. Despite that, Jax has taken credit for being the main reason why Lynch became “The Man” in WWE.
In Lynch’s mind, she has to beat Jax to move on from Jax’s claim.
“Beforehand, I said there was this lie that Nia Jax created The Man, and it is a lie. How many people have gotten bloody faces and not gone on to do the things that I have done? But I said if I can’t end that lie, then I need to end her, and I haven’t ended it. So I need to do that before I take that title back. I need to. I have to. Then she’s gonna keep doing.”
“This is what Nia Jax is, she’s a bully. So if you don’t stand up to her, if you don’t end her, she’s gonna keep doing it.”
