Becky Lynch Breaks Character, Discusses Real-Life Relationship With Charlotte Flair

Becky Lynch has lifted the lid on her relationship with Charlotte Flair.

As half of WWE’s often-heralded Four Horsewomen, Charlotte Flair, and Becky Lynch were close friends during their early years with the company. However, in more recent years that relationship has been marred by controversy both on and off-screen.

Things exploded in October 2021 with the pair due to swap Women’s Titles on SmackDown following the Draft. What should have been a simple exchange descended into chaos with Flair launching her belt to the ground instead of handing it to Lynch. It quickly became clear the tension on the screen was real, and in the following weeks, several reports emerged confirming their pair were no longer on good terms.

This real-life animosity was eventually used on-screen as the pair met at Survivor Series.

Speaking in a new interview with Alex McCarthy for the Daily Mail, opened up about the issues between the pair.

‘Wasn’t that nice?’ Lynch said speaking of their press conference together. ‘Look, I think Charlotte and I are always going to be butting heads, right? Because we both want to be the very best and with that, it’s hard to have an eternal symbiotic relationship.

‘But, it was nice. Animosity, especially for a long time, begins to weigh on you and begins to get heavy and it’s nice to get a break from that.

‘But you can’t get too much of that. This is wrestling man. We’re selling the good stuff, we’re selling conflict.’

Becky Lynch Wants To Retire In WWE

Back in December, it was revealed that Charlotte Flair had signed a huge new contract with WWE. The deal is said to be one of the biggest ever signed by a female talent and will keep Flair with the company for “several” more years.

Becky Lynch’s contract is set to expire in 2024, but the woman herself has admitted she wants to stay with the company. Also in December, Lynch said she would like to retire in WWE.
