Has Becky Lynch really retired?

On June 1st, Becky Lynch’s WWE contract expired, and she officially became a free agent. While her husband Seth Rollins decided to commit his future to WWE before his deal expired in the summer, Lynch has taken a different approach.

Despite the speculation, The Man hasn’t formally retired, but she’s expected to take a lengthy break from the ring to spend more time with her young daughter.

The most recent report on the situation said WWE is trying to give Becky Lynch as much space as possible, but crucially, if she decided to retire she wouldn’t have to inform the company.

Lynch is expected to eventually return to WWE, and if and when she does, it’s been reported she’ll become the highest-paid woman in history.

In a new appearance on Games With Names with Julian Edelman, Lynch gave a rare glimpse into her time away from the ring, revealing she’s loving life.

“It’s great. It’s great. Everything is great. I have my wonderful little family. I have many options on the table. I get to, for the first time in a long time, get to take a breath to appreciate everything.

When you’re on the road 52 weeks a year, non-stop, going from town to town to town, and in the last three years, I added to the chaos by having a daughter who I would bring everywhere with me.

On top of that, I decided it would be good to write my biography. For the last year or two, it was pure chaos. Now, I’m taking a little bit more time. I’m taking a breath. Getting to look around the world. Getting to look at what I created and evaluate everything. It’s been wonderful,”

To add to the speculation, Lynch hinted at retirement following the airing of a recent documentary writing on social media that it had been a “helluva career.”
