Becky Lynch Comments on WrestleMania Finish, What She Said to Vince McMahon, Ronda Rousey and More

TJR Wrestling

Becky Lynch aka The Man, Becky 2 Belts and The Champ Champ (she has a lot of names these days) is on a roll after main eventing WrestleMania this past Sunday and becoming the Raw and Smackdown Women’s Champion at the same time. Lynch defeated Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair in a triple threat match when Lynch pinned Rousey although it was not without controversy because Rousey’s shoulders were up while the ref started the count. It was supposed to be the finish, but there was a bit of an error by the referee there for starting the count earlier than intended.

Lynch talked to James Delow from The Gorilla Position on Tuesday and they uploaded their interview with her. Thanks to WrestlingInc for the transcription of three of the quotes while I wrote the two others.

Lynch on what she said to Vince McMahon after the WrestleMania match:

“He just said he was so proud of us. He was so proud of us. He did [give us a hug]. He did, yep, but I said, ‘I’m The Man now, Vince’ and he said, ‘Yep!”

Lynch on the controversial finish of the WrestleMania match where Rousey’s shoulders weren’t down for the entire three count:

“I’m happy I beat her with a wrestling move after she insulted my business. She insulted my business, and I beat her with a wrestling move. That’s all we need to know, the ref counted to three and I became ‘Becky Two-Belts.”

Lynch on the future of Ronda Rousey and if she will come back to WWE:

“I said it last night, I said, ‘Ronnie, ya little weirdo, whenever you’re done sulking ‘The Man’ will be right here, ready to slap your empty head off your shoulders again. I would love to see her come back. I would love to slap her across the face again, kick her in the gut, take her arm and rip it right out of its socket, but we’ll see if that’s in the cards for her. I know she’s probably hiding under her blankie, having a bit of a cry right now.”

Lynch on why she thinks the women’s titles should not be unified:

“Nope. Absolutely not. I want to defend both of them and I don’t see a point for them to be unified because we have two separate brands with Raw and Smackdown. If we go back to being one brand, maybe…no. No! I’m Becky two belts. I need two belts. I like there being more things for people to fight for. There’s a lot of talent on that roster, but none of them are holding two belts.” (Smile)

Regarding saying “belts” instead of titles, she said she can do it because she’s the one holding the two belts. Simple enough!

Lynch on what show she should be on in the Superstar Shake-up:

“I’m so proud of Smackdown. I love Smackdown, but I’m gonna be on both because I’m not relinquishing a title. I love Smackdown – this is my home. I feel very proud of this brand. I wanted to make this the show to watch, to make this the division to watch and I feel like I have done my part there. I love it here.”

Lynch also talked about what it was like to have that WrestleMania moment, she spoke about Lacey Evans and more. You can watch the 9-minute chat with Lynch below.
