Who Will Beat Bryan Danielson For The AEW World Championship?

Bryan Danielson AEW World Champion

Bryan Danielson isn’t short of challengers.

At All In, an emotional Bryan Danielson finally captured the AEW World Championship in front of his wife and young children. With victory over Swerve Strickland, Danielson ensured his career would continue after previously pledging to retire if he lost.

On the following episode of Dynamite, Jack Perry was revealed to be the star’s next challenger, with a bout set to take place at All Out.

However, it appears highly unlikely that TNT Champion Perry will be the person to beat the American Dragon.

A New Challenger For Bryan Danielson Emerges

Reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that Darby Allin has been talked about backstage as the man who will eventually beat Danielson. By contrast, Meltzer was much less enthusiastic about Jack Perry challenging the star at All Out.

I think the idea is that if Allin wins the title from Danielson, which has been at least strongly talked about, whether in New York or Tacoma (Allin, Strickland and Danielson are all from the state of Washington), the somewhat clean loss does allow for Perry to be in line for a title shot.

I’m not sold on that as a PPV main event, especially since this match didn’t leave you with the idea of badly wanting to see them again.

At All Out, Swerve Strickland is set to continue his rivalry with Hangman Adam Page. It’s already been announced that the pair will meet in Cage Match on September 7th.
