Bayley’s Opponent For WWE Clash At The Castle Teased

Bayley WWE Womens Champion

The WWE Women’s Champion Bayley was sent a message by a potential challenger on SmackDown.

At the WWE King and Queen of the Ring Premium Live Event, the WWE Women’s Champion Bayley won’t be on the card, but she was in action for the first-ever SmackDown from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

On WWE SmackDown, Bayley faced off against a cocky opponent in Chelsea Green, who had her friend Piper Niven at ringside. While Green put up a fight with some impressive moves, Bayley was able to pick up the win after hitting a Powerbomb followed by her Roseplant finishing move for the pinfall win.

After the match, Niven attacked Bayley before the champion could even get back to her feet. Niven hit a running cross body block on the seated. While Bayley tried to fight back, Niven hit her with a Bossman Slam followed by a running senton splash. Niven went on to hit the senton splash a couple of more times to leave the champion lying.

Could Piper Niven Challenge Bayley At The WWE Clash At The Castle PLE?

During an interview with the WWE digital team, Niven and Green dropped a not-so-subtle hint at what could be next for Bayley.

Chelsea Green: “It doesn’t matter what happened to me. What matters is that we are winners.”

Piper Niven: “If Bayley thought that beating was bad, just wait until we clash again.”

The “clash” usage was a tease for the upcoming WWE Clash at the Castle PLE, which takes place in just three weeks on Saturday, June 16th in Glasgow, Scotland. What’s significant about that is that Niven is from Scotland, so it does seem likely she will get a title match against Bayley at the Clash at the Castle PLE.

At the Clash at the Castle PLE, Smackdown’s Nia Jax will face off against Raw’s Lyra Valkyria in the Queen of the Ring tournament finals. It has been announced by WWE’s CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque that whoever wins the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments will receive a WWE or World Title match at SummerSlam depending on their brand. That means if Jax wins then she would get a shot at the WWE Women’s Champion at SummerSlam. There was a brief staredown between Bayley and Jax on SmackDown to tease that match.
