Bayley Is “Washed Up And Boring” According To Ex-WWE Announcer

Bayley

A former WWE announcer isn’t interested in Bayley’s comeback, calling the former Women’s Champion “boring,” among other things.

It was supposed to be Bayley and Lyra Valkyria teaming at WrestleMania 41 to challenge Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez for the Women’s Tag Team Titles. Instead, a returning Becky Lynch took Bayley’s place and won the titles with Valkyria.

On Raw After WrestleMania, Lynch and Valkyria lost the titles back to Morgan and Rodriguez. After the match, Lynch turned heel by attacking her friend Valkyria.

Bayley wasn’t in a match at WrestleMania 41 because of the dreaded “mystery attack” backstage. After explaining her heel turn, Lynch admitted that she was the one who attacked Bayley due to her long history with Bayley.

From 2019 until Bayley’s babyface turn in early 2024, Bayley was one of the top heels in WWE, while Lynch was one of the top faces, so they interacted a lot in those years. They also go back over a decade to when they were “Four Horsewomen” on the NXT brand when the women’s division took off.

The attack by Lynch on Valkyria has set them up for a match at WWE Backlash on May 10th, with Valkyria’s Women’s Intercontinental Title on the line.

Bayley Is “Nothing” According To Jonathan Coachman

During her WWE career over the last 12 years, Bayley is a former four-time Women’s Champion and a two-time Women’s Tag Team Champion, and she’s won major matches like the Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank. She is a Hall of Famer whenever she retires. At 35, Bayley likely has many more years in the ring before she calls it a career.

While speaking on the “Behind The Turnbuckle: The Last Word” podcast, Gabby LaSpisa discussed Bayley’s likely return for revenge on Lynch during Lynch’s match at Backlash. Former WWE announcer Jonathan Coachman didn’t like that idea and went on to trash Bayley.

“Oh my God! You can’t be serious. You cannot be serious. [Why keep bringing up Bayley?] That’s my question. Bayley is done. She’s washed up. She’s boring. She’s nothing. She’s nothing anymore. What does she bring to the table? If you dropped Bayley off the roster today, what would we lose?”‘

Coach criticized Bayley further, saying that he didn’t think she was a draw in any way.

“When I was in the WWE for 13 years, there would be certain people, and she’d be one of them, that you’d walk around backstage going, ‘How in the world is she winning the Royal Rumble? Or ‘How in the world is he doing that.’

To me, I think she’s a very sweet person but there’s a lot of sweet people. But I just don’t think she’s ever sold a ticket, like ever sold a ticket for any rivalry that she’s ever done.”

There is no word on when Bayley might return to WWE television, but it’s certainly possible it could beat Backlash or soon after that.
