Bayley Is Being “Dragged Down” By Damage CTRL
A former WCW star and wrestling veteran has claimed former Raw Women’s Champion Bayley is being “dragged down” due to her association with Damage CTRL.
Bayley returned to WWE screens after over a year away due to injury at 2022’s SummerSlam. The Role Model came to confront current Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair but she did not come alone. Instead, she brought out former NXT Women’s Champion IYO SKY (formerly Io Shirai) as well as the returning Dakota Kai, who had been released by WWE in April 2022.
Since their formation as Damage CTRL, the three women have picked up a big win as a team at September’s Clash at the Castle. Bayley pinned Bianca Belair in a six-woman tag team match that also featured Asuka and Alexa Bliss and in turn, ended up facing Belair at Extreme Rules with the Raw Women’s Title on the line. In the end, The EST of WWE retained her championship in a ladder match.
Now speaking on his Keepin’ It 100 podcast, former WCW US Champion Konnan discussed his feelings on Bayley’s group and thinks Kai and SKY are dragging the former hug enthusiast down:
“They invest a lot of time on these girls [Damage CTRL], and Dakota Kai has zero personality. She’s got that Mike Pence personality which is absolutely none. When she talks, she’s cricket inside the tumbleweeds. There’s nothing there, and these two girls have dragged Bayley down. They did nothing to make me wanna see them.”
