Bayley Addresses How It Felt Attending Mercedes Mone’s AEW Dynamite Debut
Bayley has opened up about how it felt to attend the All Elite Wrestling debut of one of her best friends, Mercedes Mone.
Two of the biggest women’s names during the WWE Women’s Revolution (or Evolution) were Sasha Banks and Bayley. The two women started in NXT around the same time in the early 2010s, they had one of the best women’s matches in NXT in 2015 in Brooklyn and when they got to the main roster, they kept on making history together by winning multiple titles.
While Bayley remains a top women’s wrestler in WWE who won the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble, the former Banks is now known as Mercedes Mone and has taken a different path.
In May 2022, Mone and her Women’s Tag Team Championship partner Naomi walked out of WWE due to frustrations with the company. Naomi returned to WWE in early 2024 after a successful run in TNA Wrestling. As for Mone, she started an NJPW run in early 2023, but it only lasted about five months due to a serious ankle injury.
The March 13th edition of AEW Dynamite was the not-so-secret debut of Mone in AEW at a show called Big Business since she is the “CEO” in AEW and “The Boss” when she was in WWE.
In an incredible showing of support, Bayley was in attendance at that episode of Dynamite along with Naomi & Tamina since that foursome of women have been supporting eachother at shows over the last couple of years, such as when Trinity debuted in TNA. Naomi even posted a video of the outfits that she wore with Bayley & Tamina to stay “incognito” at Dynamite.

Bayley Was Grateful To Attend Mercedes Mone’s AEW Debut
While speaking to Stephanie Chase of Digital Spy, Bayley spoke about what it meant to attend Mone’s AEW debut.
“[Mercedes] is the best, I wouldn’t be here without her. She’s done so much for me. Even after she was done with WWE, she’s been there for me in my big moments. So I know I need to be there for her continuously throughout the years. It was incredible, I’m just happy that she was on a Wednesday where I’m like, ‘alright, I can actually make a Wednesday, that’s one of our few days off.'”
“It was really special to see her celebrate with her family and her friends and people she started wrestling with and see her welcomed by a new family. It’s bittersweet, but I’m very, very proud of her and just so grateful we got to be there.”
At WrestleMania 40, Bayley will challenge the WWE Women’s Champion IYO SKY for her title after SKY and the Damage CTRL group turned on Bayley recently.
