Bayley Reacts To Clash At The Castle Crowd Singing For Her
Bayley has reacted to what it was like hearing the WWE Clash at the Castle crowd singing for her in Cardiff, Wales.
The WWE Clash at the Castle event took place on September 3rd at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales in front of 62,000+ fans. It was the first major UK WWE Premium Live Event (or pay-per-view) shown to the worldwide audience since SummerSlam 1992.
Clash at the Castle’s main show started with a six-woman tag team match with Bianca Belair, Asuka & Alexa Bliss teaming up against the Damage CTRL trio fo Bayley, IYO SKY & Dakota Kai.
Shortly after the bell rang in the six-woman tag team match, the vocal crowd started singing: “Hey Bayley, I wanna know, will you be my girl?” It’s a Bayley-inspired take on a Bruce Channel original version of the song that goes “Hey Baby” instead of Bayley in the song. Bayley sold it like it bothered her because she’s a heel that didn’t want the fans supporting her like that. It’s also not the first time that Bayley has dealt with that song at WWE shows.
During an appearance on the In The Kliq podcast, Bayley was asked about the crowd signing for her in Cardiff.
“I wouldn’t call it my song. It’s their song for me, but I knew that was gonna happen. I was so excited to come back to the UK because they are just such an ecstatic crowd. So energetic. Obviously, that’s what, as WWE Superstars, we feed off of, what we crave is the noise you know?”
“I will say it was a little distracting. I was trying to have my first big PLE [Premium Live Event] match back. I was trying to get my first big victory and they were a little loud in my ear.”
“So next time, maybe they could just wait until I approve of it, but it was 60,000 people, our first stadium show in over 30 years, and being that successful, that was an incredible experience. I’m glad I got to be on the show.”
The trio of Bayley, SKY & Kai got the win in the six-woman tag team match with Bayley getting the pinfall win on Belair after SKY hit a moonsault.
On the September 19 edition of Raw, Bayley picked up a big win over Alexa Bliss in the main event and challenged Belair to a Raw Women’s Title match at Extreme Rules.
