Baron Corbin Challenging For World Title After WWE Exit

Baron Corbin

Baron Corbin is set to battle for a World Championship less than five months after his departure from WWE.

The man formerly known as ‘The Lone Wolf’ spent a dozen years with WWE before parting ways with the company at the conclusion of his contract on 1st November 2024.

The former Arizona Cardinals offensive tackle, real name Tom Pestock, spent the majority of his WWE tenure as a much hated villain who was crowned WWE King Of The Ring in 2019 shortly after defeating Kurt Angle in his final ever WWE bout at WrestleMania 35.

Now competing as ‘The Nomad’ Bishop Dyer, the 40 year-old star has secured an opportunity at World Championship gold, a title that alluded him during his time with WWE.

Dyer is set to challenge Thom Latimer for the NWA World Championship when Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling presents Mayhem on the 14th and 15th March at St Clair College in Windsor, Ontario.

Latimer has held the NWA World Championship since 31st August having defeated EC3 to lift the illustrious title at NWA 76th Anniversary Show.

Baron Corbin Release Shocked WWE Icon

Baron Corbin recently revealed that legendary WWE Superstar Randy Orton was shocked that he was not offered new terms with the company.

The former WWE United States Champion also suggested that his release was likely down to one unnamed person of power in WWE, although he stopped short of naming the individual he blames for his WWE exit:

“Randy’s like, ‘Dude, I honestly thought you were, like, gonna be here another 10 years.’ He’s like, ‘I don’t understand it.’ He’s like, ‘Do you mind if I talk to Hunter about it?’ I don’t know if he ever did, but he’s like, ‘Somebody doesn’t like you.’

And I’m like, ‘There’s nothing I can do to change that.’ I feel like I know who it is, and that’s beside the point. But they had power enough to either kill creative or whatever it was, and they got to go to bed with that at the end of the night. That’s on them.”
