Baron Corbin Makes Bold Claim About Tag Team With Bron Breakker
Baron Corbin is already NXT Tag Team Champion with Bron Breakker and he made clear the team has a bigger goal.
It was on the February 13th edition of NXT when Baron Corbin & Bron Breakker won the NXT Tag Team Titles from Tony D’Angelo & Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo. The team of Corbin & Breakker have had a dominant run as a team since they won the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament.
While Corbin & Breakker remain the champions in NXT, other teams are trying to win a regular tag team match and a triple threat tag team match to earn a shot at Corbin & Breakker at NXT’s Stand & Deliver PLE on April 6th.
As for WWE’s Tag Team Titles on the main roster, it was announced on Raw that there will be a 6-Team Ladder Match at WrestleMania 40 as Damian Priest & Finn Balor of The Judgment Day defend their titles against five other teams that have to earn their shot.
During an appearance on WWE’s The Bump, Baron Corbin made it clear that he wants his team with Breakker to go after the WWE Tag Team Titles on the main roster and boldly believes that they would win the Tag Team Titles too.
“We were just talking about [how] on Raw and SmackDown right now, they’re having this big thing for tag teams to compete and go to WrestleMania and compete in a [Six-Pack Challenge] and we’re going, we’re holding the straps in NXT. We should get a shot at those. That should be something we can get.”
“We can go and we can cut whoever in half that we need to Saturday morning at NXT, and then we can go on to WrestleMania, and I think we can take those titles off of Judgment Day. I think we can handle anybody in the ring. He says best in the world, and that includes all those teams in WWE that are thinking that they’re on our level. We got eight weeks in the bank together, and we’re already tag champs. That speaks volumes to what we can accomplish.”
Baron Corbin Wants Tag Team Titles On Main Roster With Bron Breakker
Bron Breakker, who is on the Smackdown roster, has been featured in singles matches on that brand. But if it was up to Baron Corbin, the duo should get to challenge for the main roster Tag Team Titles.
“I would love to be Raw and SmackDown tag team champions with this guy. I want to go on and I want to win Intercontinental, US Title, I want to get in there and compete for a world title again. How cool would it be if two years from now, he’s holding the Raw title, I’m holding the SmackDown title, whatever it is, and we’re clanging those together on a Saturday night after a big show and drinking some whiskey and having a good time and going, ‘Hey, man, two years ago, we were tag champs. We’re world champs now. Let’s go.'”
