Bandido was very impressive during his AEW debut match on Dynamite against Chris Jericho, which has led to a new deal being offered to the former ROH star.

The main event of the September 28th edition of AEW Dynamite saw Bandido challenging Chris Jericho for the ROH World Title. In the build up to the match, AEW’s Owner/President Tony Khan explained that Bandido deserved the title opportunity because he was a former ROH World Champion that never lost the title.

Bandido won the ROH World Title on July 11th, 2021 and held it for 152 days, which is nearly half a year. Bandido was forced to vacate the title the day before a title match at Final Battle 2021 due to having COVID-19. Jonathan Gresham ended up winning the ROH World Title at that point. Gresham also defeated Bandido at Supercard of Honor XV on April 1, 2022 to become the Undisputed ROH World Champion.

While Bandido lost his match against Jericho due to the Liontamer submission, he may have gained full-time employment in AEW. That’s according to Dave Meltzer, who reported in the Wrestling Observer that Bandido was offered a contract by AEW’s Tony Khan after the show. Meltzer wrote:

“While we don’t have confirmation that Bandido has signed with AEW, we do have confirmation that he was offered a full-time contract immediately after his performance in the loss to Chris Jericho on 9/28 in Philadelphia.”

As stated above, it’s not currently known if the 27-year-old Bandido will sign with AEW or entertain other offers.

When somebody does sign a full-time contract with AEW, the company usually tweets about how that person “is All Elite” like they did with Rush on Friday.
