Bad Bunny Could Return For Huge WWE Tag Match Involving John Cena
WWE is working on a return for Bad Bunny.
Bad Bunny hasn’t wrestled for WWE since tearing the house down with Damian Priest at Backlash in Puerto Rico in 2023, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be back.
In an interview back in January, Bad Bunny outlined his intention to return to WWE and do something to truly scare his mother. At the time, the Hip Hop star said he didn’t know when he would be back in the ring, although he did confirm that he remains in contact with WWE.
Bunny even joked that sometimes he wished he could move away from music and just take up wrestling full-time because he loves the challenge.
But while talk of a comeback quickly fell into the background during WrestleMania season, that doesn’t mean it isn’t on the cards.
Bad Bunny To Team With Cody Rhodes?
Following WrestleMania, it was reported that a pitch has been made for John Cena to team with Travis Scott at some point in 2025. It should be noted that the report came with the caveat that it’s just one potential idea currently on the table. However, it seems that it does have some substance.
Reporting in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that there’s a “theory” that Bad Bunny will also be part of that match, likely alongside Cody Rhodes, or at the very least, a wrestler of that level.
There have already been reports of Scott & Cena doing a tag team match. The theory was Bad Bunny would be on the other side. Rhodes would make the most sense as the partner but that aspect wasn’t confirmed to us past the idea that if it is done, they’d need a wrestler of the level of Cena on the face side.
On the Raw after WrestleMania, Cena addressed fans for the first time since winning the World Championship. After again vowing to retire as champion and ruin the sport of pro wrestling, he was attacked from behind by Randy Orton.
It’s believed the long-time rivals will meet at Backlash on May 10.
