Unfortunate Backstage Update On LA Knight’s WWE Career
LA Knight is almost on the verge of getting an opportunity of a lifetime.
On this week’s Monday Night RAW episode, Knight defeated Jey Uso in the semi-finals of the Last Time Is Now Tournament.
He’ll face Gunther on the December 5 episode of SmackDown, where the two will lock horns for the chance to be John Cena’s final opponent in WWE.
Gunther is a fan favorite to win the tournament, but The Megastar also has many fans rallying behind him.
That said, a major backstage update regarding LA Knight has come to light.
On a recent Self Made Session, Knight’s recent win over Jey Uso and potential opportunity to face John Cena were discussed.
During the discussion, an interesting piece of information was brought up.
According to Self Made Pro, WWE doesn’t see him as worthy of a World Title run.
Despite being very popular among the fans, Knight’s image among the WWE administration is still very subpar.
“They don’t like him (LA Knight) like that. Yeah, they don’t like him like that.”
“You see a wrestler getting huge pops, moving tons of merch, and your question—and this is any company, right?—your question becomes: when are they going to get the ball?
Why haven’t they been given the ball? It’s been years, they’ve been hot, so what’s going on?
The answer is always that the booker just doesn’t want to give them the ball. They don’t care to give them the ball. They will never do it unless they are forced to.” (H/T – Ringside News)
LA Knight Breaks Silence After Win Over Jey Uso on WWE RAW
Following RAW, LA Knight had an interview on RAW Recap where he addressed his win over Jey Uso in the Last Time Is Now semifinals. He said:
“I appreciate every single bit of what they give me, I feed off of that stuff.
As a matter of fact, I wouldn’t be in the position I am without them if I’m honest, especially with how everything blew up a couple of years ago and how it has continued on, the people made me.
I can’t take that away from them, and I thank them to the hilt. At the same time, Let’s say at some point they’re not with me, I can’t worry about that, I’ve got to do me, I’ve got to keep doing me.”
