Backstage News On WWE-TNA Relationship, Jordynne Grace Future

Roxanne Perez was genuinely stunned by the arrival of Jordynne Grace.

On the May 28th episode of NXT, fans were left stunned by a surprise appearance from TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace. Although Grace is no stranger to WWE having taken part in the 2024 Royal Rumble, there had been no indication she’d be back.

On the show, Ava announced that Grace will face NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez at Battleground on June 9th.

It was a night of surprises in NXT as Ethan Page also made his WWE debut.

Jordynne Grace Appearance Was A Genuine Surprise

A new report from Fightful Select has given an insight into how the appearances by Ethan Page and Jordynne Grace were put together. According to Fightful the appearances were kept very much under wraps with “Lita” and “Alexa Bliss” used as placeholders on run-down sheets in place of Grace. During rehearsal, Lita’s music was used in the segment which later featured Grace.

NXT talents were said to be “pleasantly surprised” that Grace will be wrestling on the June 4th episode of the show.

The shocked reaction from Perez was legitimate as she’d asked to be surprised by the announcement of her opponent. Grace’s match with Perez is said to be one of three appearances, including her arrival on May 28th and her upcoming match with Stevie Turner. NXT sources claimed Grace is earning “at least six figures” for the three appearances.

While some feared the relationship between TNA and WWE would fall by the wayside with Scott D’Amore’s departure from TNA, it remains very much intact.

The report adds that Grace has more than a year left on her TNA contract.
