Jon Moxley is enjoying some well-earned time off.

Jon Moxley has enjoyed a typically busy 2024, wrestling 30 times for a whole raft of promotions across the world. Moxley’s commitment to traveling wherever he can have a good scrap has seen him compete in CMLL, NJPW, NJPW STRONG, Revolver, and Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport as well as AEW.

However, Moxley has been absent without explanation since losing to Tetsuya Naito at Forbidden Door on June 30th. In the process, he lost the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship he had taken from Naito back in April.

With Moxley out of the picture his Blackpool Combat Club teammate Bryan Danielson has earned an AEW World Title shot at All In after winning the Owen Hart Cup.

Jon Moxley Is Taking A Break

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer offered an update on Moxley, revealing that AEW has given him some time off.

Moxley hasn’t wrestled or been at television since Forbidden Door. He has been given time off.

There’s no word on when Moxley will return to the ring.

AEW is currently missing a raft of stars with Dalton Castle, Skye Blue, Jay White, and Killswitch all suffering injuries in recent weeks.
