Austin Theory’s Comeback May Be The Doom Of WWE Faction

Austin Theory may be the beginning of the end for a WWE faction.

After suffering an injury in July, Theory made his first return to the company during Survivor Series: WarGames as a masked man, attacking CM Punk.

Since then, he made multiple appearances, also attacking Rey Mysterio a couple of times in the process, and LA Knight once before revealing his identity on the December 15 taping.

All of his interferences were featured in segments where at least one member of The Vision was featured.

While WWE did not officially announce that Austin Theory had joined the faction, all signs indicate that he may.

Over the last couple of RAW episodes, general manager Adam Pearce confronted Paul Heyman about knowing the identity of the masked menace; however, The Oracle denied knowing it every time.

Whether or not Heyman is telling the truth will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Nevertheless, Theory’s return and unmasking seemed underwhelming, which may be problematic for The Vision going forward.

Ex-WWE Talent Explains The Problem With Austin Theory Joining The Vision

On a recent episode of his podcast on The Stevie Richards Show, the former WWE star weighed in on Austin Theory’s unmasking and potential alliance with The Vision.

He signalled warning signs for the group, where The Brons are already popular and might be required to step away from the limelight to get fans acquainted with Theory.

They’re just gonna have to feature him. They’re gonna have to…and this is the problem with the group. What do you think’s gotta happen, and WWE’s famous for this? Okay, well, Bron and Bronson are already over, so let’s just put them in the background and feature Austin Theory for a month or two. That’s why a lot of wrestlers politically and creatively will resist being in a group or go from a tag team wrestler like Bret (Hart) did to a singles and break out from there…so, this group dynamic with The Vision, you try to get everybody over, guess what happens? Nobody gets over. [14:13 onwards]
