Attitude Era Star Knows WWE Hall Of Fame Induction Won’t Happen
A WWE Attitude Era star has doubts that he will ever be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Although Vince McMahon was not a big fan of Al Snow, during the Attitude Era, he was a staple of WWE’s Hardcore division alongside his inanimate sidekick, ‘Head,’ which had been taken off a store mannequin. The star went on to win the Hardcore Championship six times and reigned as the European Champion once. As well as his onscreen work, Snow also acted as a trainer for other stars.
During an appearance on Jofo in the Ring, Snow revealed that he still has connections with WWE, and speaks to them “once in a while.”
“I speak to them, you know. I speak to a lot of the guys every once in a while. It’s very difficult, though, because they’re really busy. They’re going through a lot with the acquisition by Endeavor, all the shuffling around, and everyone trying to find their feet and settle in. The connection’s still there, but you never know—maybe one of these days I’ll show back up.”
Despite his popularity with fans and success in the ring, Snow’s name rarely comes up when it comes to a potential induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. The star himself is doubtful it will happen, although he is grateful for a recent invitation to WrestleMania.
“I’d be open to [a Hall Of Fame induction], but I doubt it. They did invite me this past WrestleMania in Philadelphia because of Paul being inducted and all that. I hope they extend that kindness again and invite me to be a part of WrestleMania again as a guest. It was great. It was a blast, truly an honor, and I was very flattered.”
Al Snow Reflects On Disastrous First Run With WWE
Al Snow has admitted there were problems with his first run in WWE back in 1995. The star debuted for the company under the name of ‘Avatar’ and wore a colourful ninja-type outfit meant to capitalize on the popularity of Power Rangers and Mortal Kombat. Unfortunately, Snow didn’t understand what he was supposed to be doing with the character, and felt it was a “very confusing gimmick.”
