Attitude Era Star Signs New WWE Deal After 24 Years
It looks like a former Intercontinental and Tag Team Champion has signed a new deal with WWE which could lead to a Hall of Fame induction.
WWE Shop has released some new merchandise for former Intercontinental Champion Ken Shamrock and it seems Shamrock may have signed a deal with the company.
PWInsider has reported that the belief is that Shamrock and WWE have signed some kind of deal, most likely a Legends agreement.
Ken Shamrock last appeared in a WWE ring back in September 1999 when he lost a First Blood match to Chris Jericho on the sixth episode of SmackDown. Despite his run in the company only lasting two and a half years, Shamrock was a hugely popular star and many had hoped to see a return of some kind at some point but it is yet to happen.
Is Ken Shamrock Set For WWE Hall Of Fame Induction?
Ken Shamrock made his name in the UFC before switching to pro wrestling and debuting for WWE as the special guest referee for the hallowed Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin match at WrestleMania 13 before embarking on his own in-ring career.
The report notes that there is no word if UFC’s new partnership with WWE under the TKO umbrella has sparked a deal for Shamrock. The timing of the deal has led many fans to speculate that it could be coming in time for a WWE Hall of Fame induction for Shamrock ahead of WrestleMania 40. Shamrock has already been inducted into the UFC and IMPACT Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Shamrock’s old WWE rival The Rock surprised many with his admission that he almost joined the MMA world in 1997 before striking gold as a heel.
