Following her triumph, Cargill paid tribute to the runner-up on social media, thanking her for enabling her to accomplish one of her dream matches.

Thank you to @WWEAsuka for one of my dream matches. I’m so thankful to have had a match with you. 🤍 it meant more than anyone would know. more to come.

In response, Asuka simply wrote “💖 But next time… I won’t hold back. 🤘😈”

Asuka Reflects On Tough Journey Back To WWE

Prior to stepping into the ring for her first Queen of the Ring qualifying match on the June 16 edition of Monday Night Raw, Asuka had been out of action for 13 long months.

After spending the previous spring working through a knee injury, the star was finally forced to undergo surgery following Backlash in May 2024. What followed was a lengthy and often difficult journey back to fitness and onto WWE television.

In a video posted on her YouTube channel following that match on Raw, Asuka admitted she faced some really “tough times” during her recovery.
