Arn Anderson On If WWE Hall Of Fame Tag Team Would Have Been Better As Singles Stars

WWE Hall of Famer Arn Anderson weighed in on whether The Road Warriors—widely regarded as one of the greatest tag teams in wrestling history—could have replicated their success as singles competitors.

Speaking on his ARN podcast, Arn Anderson expressed scepticism, emphasising that their strength lay in their unity as a team, managed by Paul Ellering.

Not as good as they were, they’re a team, and Paul, it was a package deal. I don’t think splitting them up would have added anything. I think it would have taken away. It was just a good package, the three of those guys.

The Road Warriors, known as The Legion of Doom in WWE, revolutionised tag team wrestling with their unparalleled power, intensity, and larger-than-life personas. Their distinctive look—complete with spiked shoulder pads—and dominant performances made them fan favourites across major promotions like WWE, WCW, and the NWA, where they captured numerous World Tag Team Championships.

Hawk and Animal’s partnership, guided by Ellering, was a cornerstone of their success. While other wrestlers occasionally joined or replaced them in certain storylines, the duo of Hawk and Animal remains the most iconic iteration of The Road Warriors.

Inducted into both the WWE and NWA Hall of Fame, The Road Warriors left an indelible mark on professional wrestling. Tragically, both Hawk and Animal have since passed away—Hawk in 2003 and Animal in 2020—but their legacy endures, inspiring generations of tag teams who aim to follow in their footsteps.

Which Goldberg Match Did Arn Anderson Say Was His Best?

Arn Anderson spoke about an infamous Goldberg match that he believes was one of his best ever. Anderson said that Goldberg’s match with William Regal on the February 9th, 1998 WCW Nitro episode, which went uncharacteristically long for a Goldberg match of that time, was one of Goldberg’s best matches despite what fans and industry insiders say about it.
