Another WWE Title Match Not Planned For A PLE

Adam Pearce WWE Raw

WWE’s plans for Crown Jewel are becoming clearer.

On October 7th, WWE Raw returned to a two-hour run time for the first time in over a decade. The change has long been requested by fans, but WWE admitted there were “growing pains” on the night.

During the show, Seth Rollins laid down a challenge to Bronson Reed who had put him on the shelf weeks earlier, and Bron Breakker took out Jey Uso. The attack from Breakker came after Uso retained his Intercontinental Title with a win over Xavier Woods — A title he won from Breakker.

Meanwhile, in the main event, Gunther successfully defended his World Heavyweight Title over Sami Zayn. It had initially been reported that the match would take place at Bad Blood, but instead, it was used to boost interest in Raw, and it seems the company is looking to repeat the trick.

Big Title Match Not Planned For WWE Crown Jewel

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that neither Seth Rollins vs. Bronson Reed, nor Jey Uso vs. Bron Breakker are listed for Crown Jewel. Although there is a chance the former is added to the card.

On Raw, the two matches they were directly pushing were Seth Rollins vs. Bronson Reed and Jey Uso vs. Bron Breakker. At press time, neither were listed for this show but we were told Rollins vs. Reed was possible for the show, the term used being no right now but they suspect that will change, and Uso vs. Breakker has a different date scheduled right now.

Meanwhile, a new report has given an insight into WWE’s plans for its newly created Crown Jewel Championships. The new titles were unveiled at Bad Blood and will see World Heavyweight Champion Gunther meet Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan will face Women’s Champion Nia Jax.

The winners will then be awarded the Crown Jewel Championship.

Despite some speculation online, the report noted that there are no plans for the titles to feature outside of Saudi Arabia.
