Another WWE Star Suffers Injury Setback

WWE’s injury crisis is getting worse.

During the January 27th episode of Monday Night Raw, JD McDonagh suffered broken ribs and a punctured lung after a high-risk spot went very wrong.

On the show, McDonagh teamed with Dominik Mysterio to take on the War Raiders, and during the match, he executed a moonsault from the ring to the outside. However, as he landed, he smashed his upper back and head against the announce table.

Despite his injuries, McDonagh finished the match as planned.

The injury came just 24 hours after it was reported that Dakota Kai had been pulled from all upcoming appearances after potentially suffering a concussion a week earlier.

WWE Star Injured On SmackDown

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez confirmed that Apollo Crews also suffered an injury during his match with Johnny Gargano on January 24th.

“We need to do something here. This is two in a week…..actually three, because Apollo Crews, I checked on that one. He is also hurt. They don’t have an update yet, but yeah, it was exactly what I talked about last night. He took the back cracker. And I don’t know if it’s his pec or his shoulder or what. Yeah, he was hurt.”

The company is already missing Bronson Reed and Tonga Loa, who suffered injuries at Survivor Series. In the case of Reed, he’s confirmed he won’t be back in time for WrestleMania after shattering a bone in his ankle.

However, there could be some good news on the horizon following reports that WWE is hoping to have AJ Styles back in action within days. The former World Champion has been out of the ring since October.
