Another WWE Star Closing On Retirement

WWE’s main event scene could change dramatically in the coming years.

At the end of 2025, John Cena will finally bring down the curtain on one of the most impressive careers the wrestling business has ever seen. For years, Cena dominated WWE, and thus the industry, but in just a few short months, he’ll have wrestled his last match.

Cena’s exit could herald something of a changing of the guard, with several stars beginning to turn their attention to life outside of the ring.

During a recent interview, Roman Reigns said he has two years left in wrestling after his current contract expires. This would theoretically take him to around WrestleMania 44 in 2028. It’s believed that his current contract expires shortly after WrestleMania 41 in 2026.

Elsewhere, Cody Rhodes admitted he’s looking to head to Hollywood, following in the footsteps of Cena, The Rock, and Batista. Stars such as Rey Mysterio and AJ Styles have also been open about their nearing retirement, while Goldberg is also planning his own exit in 2025.

Jey Uso Looking At WWE Exit

Jey Uso has now added his name to that growing list of stars looking to life outside of wrestling, commenting that he’s got a couple of years left. In an interview with The Ringer Wrestling Show, Uso admitted that wrestling is catching up with him, and he wants to “venture out a little more.”

“I’m on the end of my career,” Uso stated. “I feel like I still have a couple years left. I still feel strong, but this is the first time I kind of felt the years are catching up on me. I think I’m getting older. I’ll be 40 in August. I love wrestling. Wrestling is everything. I’m just getting to the point where I want to venture out a little bit more.”

At WrestleMania 41, Jey Uso will challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship as he bids to become World Champion for the first time.
