“I Need Another Title Anyway” – Matt Cardona Makes Offer To NJPW
Matt Cardona is looking to add more gold to his impressive championship collection!
The October 10th season premiere of WWE Raw was full of surprises, one of which was the return of Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson to WWE TV. In previous weeks, Finn Balor had been goading AJ Styles to join him in The Judgement Day, and on October 10th, Styles admitted that he did need family. However, after embracing Balor, he revealed that he wasn’t talking about the Prince; instead, he brought out Gallows and Anderson, who helped to even the odds against Balor’s group.
The next week, it was announced that all three members of The OC would take on Damian Priest, Finn Balor, and Dominik Mysterio at WWE Crown Jewel on November 5th. While the match announcement made perfect sense from a story perspective, it seemingly threw a wrench in the working relationship between Karl Anderson (who is the current IWGP NEVER Openweight Champion) and NJPW as he was scheduled to defend his title against Hikuleo in Osaka on the same date.
Karl Anderson posted a statement on social media clarifying that he would be in Saudi Arabia on November 5th, and in turn, NJPW publicly declared that he would be stripped of his championship if he did not fulfill his commitment to face Hikuleo.
Capitalizing on the controversy surrounding Anderson’s double booking, independent sensation Matt Cardona took to social media to offer to take his place in the NEVER Openweight Championship match, saying that he needs another title to add to his impressive collection.
“I need another title anyway. Let me know.”
I’ll take his spot. I need another title anyway. Let me know. 😎 https://t.co/E6ySDR1GkO
